Skateistan The Movie – A Board and Four Wheels in Kabul<\/a><\/p>\nThis film was a Documentary unlike other documentaries. This movie is based on Teaching kids in the Middle-East to Skateboard. Although none of the kids in Kabul have rode nor heard of a skateboard, they want to learn to do so. The director of the documentary was Kai Sehr. It started when two Australians, Oliver Percovich and Sharna Nolan, arrived in Kabul with three skateboards.<\/p>\n
The plot of the story was a few pro-skaterboarders, Louisa Menke, Cairo Foster, Kenny Reed, and Syria’s Maysam Faraj\u00a0went to Kabul, a war zone in Afghanistan, to teach both Boys and Girls to Skateboard. The kids, who have never heard of a skateboard will dedicate themselves to going to the Skateistan School and learn to Skateboard. These kids grew up alone working harder than any kid ever should. Skateboarding also takes a lot of hard work and dedication, which makes these children perfect to learning the secrets of the Skateboard.<\/p>\n
I learned that although skateboarding is an American sport more so than a Middle-Eastern sport, it won’t stop these children from learning a new way to express themselves. These children are mostly without parent’s, and without financial support.<\/p>\n
The moral of this documentary in my opinion was Try new things. This is my\u00a0perception\u00a0of the film because these kids have never heard of a skateboard, but they tried it, and most of them were actually pretty good.<\/p>\n
Although this movie didn’t have much of a budget I think it was very well put together and I really liked it. If you think it’s just like another Skateboarding movie, your very wrong. This movie wasn’t about teaching kids about western culture but instead just teaching then to have a good time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
