Viewed at Santa Barbara International Film Festival<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.falirohouse.com\/images\/films\/RawMaterial\/posters\/RawMaterial_image.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"180\" height=\"257\" \/>The film Raw Material was very interesting visually and very interesting to hear the\u00a0dialog\u00a0from these people. \u00a0This film\u00a0kept\u00a0my attention the entire time and had me thinking I take way to much for granted. \u00a0This film really opens your eyes to the life style any\u00a0family&#8217;s\u00a0are forced to live. \u00a0The\u00a0documentary\u00a0film Raw Material was a very interesting inside look at a life style most people especially Americans have never seen before. \u00a0The humble\u00a0children\u00a0and\u00a0family&#8217;s\u00a0really stand out in this\u00a0incredible\u00a0documentation of human life in the shadows.<\/p>\n<p>I watched the film Raw Material at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. \u00a0The films director did and amazing job at getting the family&#8217;s\u00a0comfortable\u00a0with him and the cameras and they really brought him into there lifes seem by many on the streets every day but never really looked into. \u00a0The subjects in this\u00a0documentary\u00a0were very real and very open. \u00a0The people in the film seemed to look at the director,\u00a0Hristos Karakepelis, as a member of the family or a helper on there journey to survive.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0documentary\u00a0film Raw Material followed the life&#8217;s and family&#8217;s of Roma illegal\u00a0immigrants\u00a0as they struggle to survive. \u00a0There only means of income is from collecting different types of metals and selling them at scrap yards. \u00a0The scrap yards are all\u00a0corrupt\u00a0and\u00a0decide\u00a0how much\u00a0something\u00a0weighs\u00a0and how much to give for it just by look. \u00a0The family&#8217;s can not complain to the scrap yard because they fear if they do the scrap yard workers will stop buying from them and they will have no means of making money to survive. \u00a0One thing about all the family&#8217;s is how close they are. \u00a0All the members of each family seem much much closer with each other than any American culture. \u00a0Witch makes you think who is truely living life correctly.<\/p>\n<p>The most significant aspect of the film Raw Material in my\u00a0opinion is the attitudes of the\u00a0children\u00a0in these family&#8217;s. \u00a0The children love there life and there family. \u00a0Not knowing anything different there entire lives, the children find joy in things most other children would consider hard labor or tough. \u00a0The children in the film say they do not want to be like the other kids they want to be with there family doing what there family does not like anyone else. \u00a0The film has almost a scary element to it, just because of how real it is.<\/p>\n<p>I would\u00a0recommend\u00a0everyone to see this film to see how other people are living and enjoying life. \u00a0Even living in a lower class household we take advantage of\u00a0aspects that are never even an option to other family&#8217;s and cultures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reviewed by Truman Kewley.
