Viewed at the AFI Fest 2015.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/pmcdeadline2.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/1217371_my-golden-years.jpg?w=446&amp;h=299&amp;crop=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"324\" height=\"217\" \/>Directed by the five time nomination reciever\u00a0for the palm d&#8217;Or award at the Cannes Film Festival- Arnaud Desplechin, &#8220;My Golden Days&#8221; \u00a0is a sort of coming of age film that reminices\u00a0on\u00a0the life of Paul D\u00e9dalus (Mathieu Amalric, Quentin Dolmaire) from his childhood, teenage years, and his current adult life. The film is a branch off of one of Desplechin&#8217;s prior films\u00a0&#8220;My Sex Life&#8230; Or How I Got Into An Argument&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>While the film starts with the adult Paul D\u00e9dalus\u00a0(Mathieu Amalric) being detained in airport security\u00a0because of a discrepancy\u00a0over his identity and travel history. With this premise, the film flashes back to Paul&#8217;s childhood with his crazy mother, to his rebellious adventure in\u00a0the USSR, and maybe most importantly adolescent Paul&#8217;s (Quentin Dolmaire)\u00a0time spent with his first love, Ester (Lou Roy-Lecolline). Throughout family qualms and the heartache accompanied by a fist love, Paul journeys through self discovery while reflecting on what parts of his past still impact him today.<\/p>\n<p>A majority of the party scenes in the film have loud American hip hop music playing, but as for the rest of the film it is a gentle score by Gr\u00e9goire Hetzel.
