Ode to Turbo<\/em><\/p>\n I was young and wild when he came into my life<\/p>\n Like a hurricane coming to the\u00a0beach<\/p>\n They called him Turbo and he lived like a man<\/p>\n Who had nothing to learn or to teach<\/p>\n He and I were friends, at least that’s what he told me<\/p>\n Though our lives went on separate tracks<\/p>\n He went through jail and adrenaline highs<\/p>\n And through cigarettes like they were his snacks<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He threw parties for people he never really knew<\/p>\n And spent his wealth\u00a0on cigarettes and\u00a0pear cider brew<\/p>\n He was cool all the time, but it’s a life only he could enjoy<\/p>\n Here’s to Turbo who could never be destroyed<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Women that could break a young man in half<\/p>\n And drugs for a thrill seeker’s soul<\/p>\n I lost touch while he crashed through his life<\/p>\n To the opposite end of the world<\/p>\n To China where he might get a second chance<\/p>\n If his liver\u00a0was not undermined<\/p>\n I caught him almost drinking every now and then<\/p>\n But he knew I would catch him in time.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I saw him when he barely could walk on all two<\/p>\n Caught him when he looked for some pear cider brew<\/p>\n But he\u00a0was restored, and we fled to the skies, out of town<\/p>\n Here’s to Turbo who nothing could take down<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Later as I draw from my teen memories<\/p>\n I get a shocking letter in the post<\/p>\n The life he had lived came back for revenge<\/p>\n Like a hurricane coming to the coast<\/p>\n So old friend, Turbo, here’s to you!<\/p>\n I raise you a fresh glass of pear cider brew<\/p>\n That you loved\u00a0like you loved any thrill<\/p>\n Here’s to Turbo, who\u00a0I thought nothing could kill<\/p>\n <\/p>\n [image taken from imdb]<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Gustav Arndal.
