Viewed at The Santa Barbara International Film Festival 2020.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mosh is a story of struggle\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 following a young girl named<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mosh, living in the ghetto of \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 the Dominican Republic with her<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">cousin who deals drugs and her\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 mother suffering from cancer while<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Also pursuing her dream of dancing.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 This is a story of struggle and what it<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Is like to grow up in poverty and crime\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 and mosh\u2019s family are victims from the<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Affect of needing money. Mosh obviously \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 disapproves of her cousin\u2019s activity and<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tries to take him out of it but while she does that she also screws him over.Now mosh<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Has her two dearest people in danger of dying. This film not only deals with themes of<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Poverty but also brings up the idea of death and what happens afterlife. An interesting<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Direction was chosen in \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 this film which was making god a woman with an<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assistant in a pineapple\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 suit and just being there. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0It was confusing at first<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Because they never say \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><b>\u00a0she is god \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">until the end. She seems very<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eery because she\u2019s very \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 monotone and her narration is<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Vague. It was confusing \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 at first but it\u2019s also very open\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To interpretation. I think \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0the directors made that choice<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Because the afterlife is \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 open to interpretation. This<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Story, In my opinion, has \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0themes of dealing with your<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">consequences that can \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0lead to death and pain&#8230; Or not.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>O<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">bviously, this film deals with major issues of poverty, the struggle of the poor and corruption<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>S<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">eeing this film take on these themes and the concept of the afterlife was very interesting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>H<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">owever, this film has deep meaning and I would recommend people to watch it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reviewed by Maria Loza.
