Viewed on DVD.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-680\" style=\"margin: 0px 10px 0px 0px; float: left\" src=\"https:\/\/thecia.com.au\/reviews\/i\/images\/indiana-jones-and-the-kingdom-of-the-crystal-skull-0.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"325\" height=\"199\" \/>Indiana Jones has been an extremely successful franchise with a very devoted fan base. The last film was released almost twenty years ago making <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0367882\/\" target=\"_new\">Crystal Skull<\/a><\/em> a thrill to Indy fans. The fourth installment of the Indy movies left me quite disappointed and fairly confused. With such talented people working on this film, I believed it would be sensational. But there are some stories that even director Steven Spielberg can\u2019t save.<\/p>\n<p>This film brings us to the year 1957 where it seems Dr. Jones has settled down and focused on his teaching career. Anyone who has seen an action-packed Indiana Jones film before knows that this will not last for long ins. Dr. Jones is soon kidnapped and forced at gun point and sword point to help the KGB find a box marked &#8220;Roswell&#8221; that containins mummified remains. A new, younger character named Mutt Williams, played by Shia LeBeouf, is then introduced as Harrison Ford\u2019s new sidekick. Their adventures take them to Peru where things start to kick up a notch.<\/p>\n<p>Even though Harrison Ford isn\u2019t still a young buck, this film does deliver its promise of action-packed scenes. From car chases to sword fights, to even a UFO taking off, Indy fans get a full dose of action. But somewhere between all that action I began to wonder, when did aliens become part of the Indiana Jones legacy? This is what made me think this film is uncomparable to the original trilogy. \u00ad\u00adIt is amazing that a film with such an amazing cast and such a large production budget could disappoint fans so tremendously. The elements to make an amazing film were all there, but they never seemed to come together to make a compelling film.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reviewed by Ally Perry.
