These lists were then calculated into the following master list:<\/p>\n<p>1. The Godfather (Francis Ford Coppola, 1972): USA<br \/>\n\t\u201cI\u2019m gonna make him an offer he can\u2019t refuse\u2026\u201d Few will be surprised to find that Francis Ford Coppola\u2019s mafia masterpiece The Godfather was overwhelmingly voted number one on our list.<\/p>\n<p>2. Citizen Kane (Orson Welles, 1941): USA<br \/>\n\t\u201cRosebud\u2026\u201d Though Citizen Kane is almost always found in the number one spot, Orson Welles\u2019 classic will have to settle for second in the eyes of our reviewers.<\/p>\n<p>3. Star Wars (George Lucas, 1977): USA<br \/>\n\t\u201cUse The Force, Luke\u2026\u201d In a very close third comes the epic science fiction classic Star Wars.<\/p>\n<p>4. Vertigo\t(Alfred Hitchcock, 1958): USA<br \/>\n\t\u201cI look up, I look down\u2026\u201d Though Vertigo is Hitchcock\u2019s only film on our list, at number four it holds a special place in our reviewer\u2019s hearts.<\/p>\n<p>5. 2001: A Space Odyssey (Stanley Kubrick, 1968) USA<br \/>\n\t\u201cI\u2019m sorry Dave\u2026\u201d Our Top 5 is rounded out by Stanley Kubrick\u2019s groundbreaking space adventure.<\/p>\n<p>6. The Rules of The Game (Jean Renoir, 1939): France<br \/>\n7. Apocalypse Now (Francis Ford Coppola, 1979): USA<br \/>\n8. The Shawshank Redemption (Frank Darabont, 1994): USA<br \/>\n9.
