Skateistan: Four Wheels and a board in Kabul is a documentary all about bringing skateboarding to Afghanistan and building a skateboard school that brings all together. The pictures tell the story:

Skateistan is a beautifully inspiring film of transforming lives through the skateboard. It is truly amazing how everyone came together to build the school uniting classes, sects, gender and religions; building peace. I would highly recommend this film whether or not you are a skateboarder!

Your review is wonderful and really caught my eye. I loved this movie as well. The Middle East is a really deserted place for a third world country. They dont have any of the luxuries we do in the United States. We have theme parks and ways to keep entertained, they have nothing. The Americans bring skateboarding to the Middle East to keep the children occupied and out of trouble. The skate park brings happiness to the people and the community. Together they help bring people of all different races, genders, and beliefs together. This movie was fantastic and I also would reccomend this movie to everyone.

Just to clarify, it was not an american who brought skateboarding to Afganistan, it was an Australian, this film is not about what the U.S. brings to Afganistan at all. Even the pro skateboarders are not American. Infact, it’s very troubling how much money our government and military continues to pour into this country without getting to know the natives, this is something the filmmaker spoke about after the film.

I thought this film was inspiring. I really liked how they all came, and taught all these children, who’ve never heard of skateboarding, to skate. Not only was it cool that they taught them, but to take time out of their lives, to help someone, is just absolutely awesome. This movie is one of my top 5 favorite movies, just after Dark Knight, and Restrepo. This film is 10/10! Absolutely spectacular.

This was one film I missed that I really wanted to see. I am a fan of skateboarding and got to catch Destination Orcas, which was another great sk8 documentary that premiered at the festival. I hope to catch this film when it comes out on DVD. I enjoyed this review it makes me want to see the movie even more.
