Sunshine (Danny Boyle, 2007): UK/USA

I have seen a few of Danny Boyles movies and the ones that I have seen was good in different ways. So when I came to see Sunshine I was excepting more then what I saw. In the beginning the film was good and I enjoyed it but then things happened and I started to be confused over it instead.
The film takes place in the future, and the sun is about to die. So we send out a crew with 8 people to re-ignite the sun again. There had been a crew before them to complete the assignment but they failed so there is a lot of tension is the air. Will they survive or will the end up like the other crew?
At the beginning I enjoyed the film and I was curious about how the film was going to be. The earth is dying because of the sun is dying so we need to re-ignite the sun again to be able to live. That sounds like a good science fiction to me, but as I started to see the film I went from good to less good. Things that didn’t make any sense to me happened and they shifted camera angel so fast that I didn’t really know what was going on. This happened after maybe I had seen half of the film. I don’t know if it was the fact that the film got boring after a while which made me sleepy or the fact that a lot of things happened in a short time which made me confused. I didn’t understand the film at all.
Thank good Cillian Murphy made this film worth seeing even if the film was confusing for me. He rescued the film from worse to bad in my eyes. He played well and he was the one that made me want to stay and see the rest of the film. This film is nothing I recommend, I would rent it cheep somewhere if I were a big fan of Danny Boyle.
