Frozen (Chris Buch and Jennifer Lee, 2013) USA – Draft
I have never been the biggest fan of Disney movies, but Frozen changes everything. A film that represents everything that Disney is at its best and greatest. Beautiful visuals mixed with a funny, dark and warmhearted fairy-tale.
I saw Frozen at Santa Barbara Film Festival. Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee directed it. Chris Buck got nominated for an Oscar in the category “Best Animated Feature Film of the Year” for his work on Surfs Up.
The main characters are played by Kristen Bell (Anna), Idina Menzel (Elsa), Jonathan Groff (Kristoff), Josh Gad (Olaf) and Santino Fontana (Hans).
Elsa, the princess of Arendale (?) was born with the ability to create ice and snow. One day when Elsa and her sister Anna where playing in the castle, Elsa losses control over her powers and almost kills her sister. After thinking her power would do more damage then good, she and her parents decides to keep her away from everyone else. Annas memories was removed by trolls after the accident.
After their parent’s dies, Elsa is going to take over the throne as the princess, but her powers get reviled to the rest of kingdom when she by accident turns the whole kingdom into ice. At the same time Annas heart get turned into ice and the only thing that can save her and the kingdom is the act of love.
The visuals in Frozen are outstanding; it is probably Disneys best work so far. Frozen also provides plenty of musical splendor to please the whole family.
If you like Disney and animated films, you should definitely seen this one.
