U Want Me 2 Kill Him? (Andrew Douglas): UK
When I saw uwantme2killhim at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, I haven’t heard anything about this story before. I though that it was really good, the story is absolutely unique; you get sucked into it right away.
Uwantme2killhim? is directed by Andrew Douglas. This was his third feature length film he directed.
Mark is a good-looking high school kid from England with a big social life. He is one of the popular kids in school. Mark spends a lot of time chatting on the internet with Rachel (played by Jaime Winstone). Rachel is a few years older then Mark. Even though he has never seen more then just her profile picture, he falls in love with her. One day Rachel asks Mark to take her brother John (who has been bullied for having an Arabic stepfather and who is socially awkward) under his wing, which he did.
After a few days of not hearing anything from Rachel, Mark got worried something might happen to her. He asks John the day after if something happen to Rachel, and he told Mark that Rachel was dead and the police though it was suicide. Mark and John refuses to believe that so they decide to look for the murderer themselves.
I think that acting was very good. Bought from Jamie and Toby. I think that the role fit them perfectly. Jamie Blackley as the young athletic kid and Toby Regby as that unsocial, insecure kid that no one cares for. I liked the direction it was going and the pacing was good.
This is a movie that you have to see. Good acting, super interesting story and you will get sucked in for the first minute.
