1. Maxime De Rooij 11.16.15 / 9pm

   I have never seen a documentary like this. In the beginning I was not very amused but it got more interesting towards the end. I agree that the shots were long and there was not a lot going on. It was on purpose because it was a documentary about the last day of the mother’s life. Also because the life of an old woman is very calm most of the time and her life is more slow so no music and sound effects were added. It was an interesting documentary to see.

   I agree that this is a truly unique movie, with the long shots with either no dialogue between the characters or simply no movement besides that of the landscape. When learning about how Chantal passed away, that sheds light on the deeper meaning of the movie, such as how the slow pace of it mimics the slowness of life and the slowness of death. Definitely a movie to watch for the experience.

   This movie was truly a different experience. It was slower than your usual film. The long shots reflected a lot of the mother’s life. It was a very figurative, but slow film.

   I feel like the best word to describe this movie is “interesting”. It was slow, but you got a glimpse into the relationship between Chantal and her mother before they both passed away.
5. Kendall Crumley 11.17.15 / 7pm

   I completely agree. It was incredibly slow but very interesting to experience the unique cinematography that Chantal uses.
