imageMedieval fiction fanatics would be delighted by this project. This story displays three different kingdoms in Italy, all encountering a struggle that is eventually overcome at the end. At first we are introduced to the envious and selfish Queen of Longtrellis (Salma Hayek), who is willing to do anything it takes to procreate her genetics into future generations. Then we see the King of Stronghill (Vincent Cassell) full of avaricious and uncontrollable sexual desires go out of his way to get the “girl of his dreams”. On a different part of the kingdom, we encounter the peculiar King of Highhills (Toby Jones) that develops a conflicted relationship with his daughter, princess Violet (Bebe Cave), based on the fact that he is forcing her to marry a guy she doesn’t feel happy with, not to mention the other friendship developed by the king with a pretty clever little flea. Tale Of Tales is a very eccentric film filled with mythical creatures, amazing scenery, old medieval customes, and hidden messages. This movie makes an impact in our feelings by adding a display of a more realistic and explicit reality to the colorful fairytale stories.
