Carol (Todd Haynes, 2015): UK | USA | France

With 3 awards and 4 nominations, Todd Haynes raised the level quite high this time.” Carol the next big movie.”
The setting of this movie was shot back in the 1950’s, Manhattan. This elegant beautiful woman (Carol) and (Therese) a lady working at a doll department around Christmas time, fall in love. This connection that they have has brought many difficulties to both their lives (especially being homosexual in the 1950’s)
The color green appeared only when Carol and Therese were together, or thinking of each other. It all started with the green tunnel lights. The clothing they were wearing; there was at least one piece of clothing that was some sort of green, the hotel sheets, walls, lamps, furniture etc. I believe the color green was a symbol. The color green can mean that they can be themselves or are being themselves.
