Follow Your Heart, Animated Shorts (Rob O’Neil, 2015): USA
Reviewed by Bryan Austin Gillison. Viewed at the Santa Barbara Film Festival 2016.
Follow your heart made the internal external
but it wasn’t an Inside Out rip off,
it’s an original
Some say that a heart on your sleeve shows your cards
but this animation prefers Saint Bernards
for those with big hearts end up with big companions
Each person in this story has one of the canine relation
They walk them on leashes, forget about sleeves
and each dog-like heart shows what each person needs.
Of course this story is one about love
and I won’t give it away but it’s best not to handle hearts with kid gloves
so give into desire, and set your heart free
let it wag and wiggle, leave at once! Flea!
as you rush to buy tickets and get a good seat
you’ll find yourself pleased as a georgia peach
when you’ve seen the wonders animation can bring
Follow Your Heart is a true film treat.
