The Orchestra (Mikey Hill, 2015): Australia
Reviewed by Bryan Austin Gillison. Viewed at the Santa Barbara Film Festival 2016.
Imagine a world full of little miniatures
and everyone around had a few of theirs
each and every townsman, and town lady too
had a set of tiny people following their moves
each of those short minis played to their own tune
and there was beautiful music playing in every room
but not everyone was content
with having their own bunch
some were very lonely
Like Vernon, to meet a lady was a must.
one day he spotted her
with her pipe playing minis in tow
the woman of his dreams had moved into the retirement home
and adorable old vernon, his bunch had never hit the right note
until they saw this lady, and the rest is history she wrote
so if you enjoy 2D animation
and think old people are cute
then please leave home without your instruments
and try not to tap your boots
for the only sounds you’ll want to hear
are this movie’s tunes!
