In Cory Finleys “Thoroughbreds” he takes us to into the lives of two girls, both are very well off and seem to have hopes of a better future; or so we think. As the movie goes on it becomes more twisted and dark only to turns into attempt commit murder against one of the girls very wealthy step-father; and further reveals which one of the girls are even more dark than they are portrayed.

Not only was the choice in actors and actresses spot on but I only found one thing that truly made the movie great as a whole; and that was only thing that really stood out to me throughout the whole film. The choice and timing in music. When I was watching the film it had caught my attention from the gecko, but when it first started it had this very interesting thumping, almost native, sound playing and it really got my heart racing; so that was one plus.

Another was how the scenes were split into chapters every time something dramatic happened and every time that happened this intense violin sound would play and it just progressed and that really added to the whole suspension of the movie and the girls action that went along with it; if I recall correctly even in certain scenes it played and it was just perfect. Even when music was not played it still made the film amazing. In an particular scene towards the end, when a certain deed is committed, there’s no sound what so ever and really adds to the whole mood of the movie and really creates the essences as well; it will really leave viewers sitting at the edge of their seats. Another scene that it’s done in is the scene of the dad roaming his house at night when he here’s an noise at night, at that moment i forgot i was even in a theater i really felt i was there in that moment; truly incredible.

Out of all the films, this one was my favorite. I don’t think there are any words that describe just how well it was all put together; everything was just spot on. I would for sure recommend this film to anyone, especially if they’re one for drama with very intense action. Just marvelous would definitely would watch it again.
