Timecrimes (Nacho Vigalondo, 2007): Spain

If I had to describe Time Crimes ( Los Cronocrimenes), I would say it was perfectly logical. From A to B, from B to C and then from C to A without any flaws. And I have never seen a movie which is that simple could be that amazing.

AFI Fest was the best experience I have had. Even though there were some films that I did not understand it well, they were honestly good and worthy to watch. And Time Crimes is my first suggestion of the list. The director Nacha Vigalondo who was nominated of the Academy Award for short film 7:3 In The Morning also awards. Moreover, he even shoed more talents when he is satisfied with a rold of director only, he is also an actor and screenwriter. And this movie is the proof for that talent.

The story seems very simple but yet complex. There are only four characters in this film and has no digital effect. There was a lazy afternoon, Hector (Karra Elejalde and his wife Clara (Candela Fenandez) just moved in a new neighborhood. While Hector was relaxing, he used a binoculars to watching randomly. Suddenly, ye saw something weird. Looking again, he saw a naked girl. Hector came to her to see what was going on. Suddenly, he was stabbed in his arm by the stranger who covered his face with pink pandages. He was scared and ran up to the hill where there was a house. Breaking, he came inside and eventually got into a time machine from the suggestion by the lab keeper (Nacho Vigalondo).

The movie turns to be really good, the big reason is beacause it proved that it did not need to take millions dollar to have a good movie. As a contrast, a good movie requires a good script from a good brain. Focus on the story line, I know you will like it.

The audiences who are big fans of Hitchcock or Sci-Fi thriller will definitely love this film with no hesitation.
