Che (Steven Soderbergh, 2008): USA

Words alone can not even begin to describe the film Che. Not only was this movie filled with stregnth determination and some of the most convincing acting someone should ever be fortunate enough to see, but never in the 4 1/2 that I was watching it upon the huge Chinese Theatre’s screen was I not utterly amazed with what I was seeing. Especially after seeing the film Motorcycle Diaries, which is about Che’s early life, this film just fell right into place in my mind. The acting was indescribable and every once in a while someone would cough and I would be reminded that I wasn’t actually in the film alongside Che. The film did an excellent job of enconpassing all the aspects of the Revelution. One of the main things that made this movie different from any other movie with troops and a war, was the connection between the characters that often gets left out in other films. The men in Che’s troop were all so determined and devoted to their task, and most importantly eachother. Though Che had a horrible athsma problem throughout the film, he would still reject the idea of letting someone go and fetch him medication, becuase he would have rather died than risk one of his men’s lives. Also each of the men that joined, came with a unique story of why they were their and what this all meant to them. It was amazing all around.
