Restrepo was produced by Tim Hetherington (The Devil Came on Horseback) and Sebastian Junger ( The Perfect Storm) in 2010. Restrepo was a Documentary War film about the life of the Second Platoon in the Korengal Valley, Afghanistan.

With bombs exploding and people dying, this movie embeds you into the war and you get experience like you are there in real life. due to of the gruesome death scenes, this movie was rated R intended for only viewers 18 years and older.

Restrepo was nominated for six awards total, including WAFCA, Satellite Award, Independent Spirit Award, CFCA Award and an Oscar nominee. The movie won best documentary PFCS Award, Best Documentary Grand Jury Prize and Best Directorial Debut NBR Award.

They wanted to connect the end of the Korengal Valley to Korengal to help the people survive, with little water and no resources the village was crumbing and diminishing. Being bombed 24/7 they had to find a way to get to the other side. The created OP Rest repo and had to fight it out and eliminate the Al Qaeda and the Taliban’s.

The people involved in these kinds of battles never forget the things they see in these kind of big wars. These are the real life hero’s of today, the Batman’s, and Supermen of the new century. Althought this movie has no theme, it has a great life lesson, love. The people in these wars, become more than “coworkers”, they become family.

This movie was one of the best documentaries I have ever seen. customarily the documentaries I have seen are, including “Super Size Me”, about a man only living off McDonalds fast food. Restrepo made me feel like I was watching the fight while it was happening. I was reminded of all the war stories my Uncle from the Korean war had told me growing up. This movie was about a 9/10
