1. William Barton 02.15.11 / 9pm

   I think that it’s pretty unfortunate that Nolan did not get an oscar nomination for best director. Inception was brilliantly executed. Every time I watch this film, I can’t decide whether the screenplay is better or the directing is better. Either way, it doesn’t really matter because Inception is awesome. The fact that he uses as little CGI as possible gives this, and all of his other films, a real sincere quality that lacks in many films today. I can’t wait until his next movie.

   I to respect the fact that Chris Nolan uses as little CGI as possible, it shows his dedication to making quality films. I thought one thing that put the movie over the top was the casting. All those great actors and actresses on the same screen was a really cool. I think Nolan is one of the greatest directors and will be winning many more awards in the future.

   Inception was a great film that I thoroughly enjoyed watching. As I began watching this movie I didn’t know what to think but by the time the credits rolled I was impressed. I really liked this film, which was the reason for me going to the movies another time to view it again. The second viewing allowed me to grasp some of the details that I had missed during the first. I liked how Christopher Nolan made the ending up to the viewers to interpret, whether Cobb was in a dream still or made it back to the real life. Overall I thought the idea of the movie was extremely creative and it was a job well done.

   Here is another film that will go down as one of my favorite films of all time. This movie, Inception, is about a people allowing themselves to go in a dream within a dream. I find it hard for a director to make up of a story plot of this kind and find this idea hard to produce to make a movie. Great Job by the director Christopher Nolan who didn’t receive an Oscar nomination for this movie. Leonard DiCaprio really captured his character and played a strong role in the movie. He really sold his part from his devastating lost of his wife and how he was emotionally broken from it, to his job of surviving within a dream within a dream with his team he built for his task. The end of the movie was the mind blowing part because they used an object to determine if they were dreaming or not and he used his wife’s spinning object to determine whether he was dreaming or not. The camera is directed on the object and then the movie end with it still spinning but about to fall, however, it doesn’t let you know if he decided to stay in the dream state or in reality.

   Good review! This has to be one of my favorite films! Nolan really did a great job at balancing the plot story and effects. I find it common that sometimes a film will have more of one than the other and lessens the films success. However, this movie was intense and capturing in every way.

   Inception is probably one of the weirdest movies of all time. Your review of Inception is as best as it could be. Leandro DiCaprio plays a person who goes on an adventure filled with action, suspense, and drama. However, the most interesting part is the concept of a dream. In the story, DiCaprio is living a dream within a dream. This concept goes on and on, which makes it hard to follow at times. At the end of the movie, I questioned what was going on. I’ve watched this movie a number of times and I still get confused. It’s a great movie, but you just got to really pay attention if you want to know what’s going on.

   Christopher Nolan has become one of my favorite directors just recently. I had no idea that he was the same director for the Batman series. I also just watched his other movies, “Momento” and “The Following. Even though they were not as big as “Inception” but they are similar because their plots are are completely different than most Hollywood films today. They keep you at the edge of your seat the whole time, and we are left questioning ourselves about the ending of the film. Just like a few others who commented, he did not use that much CGI at all which is very impressive. I do not think that Christopher Nolan gets enough credit that he deserves for the films he makes

   I have to say that this is by far on my top three favorite movies! As someone who loves to write using complex ideas, I absolutely admire how the film was portrayed. The style, cinematography and the beautifully composed music by Hans Zimmer just made it all that much better. The movie itself did justice to the advancements in film since the first colored film came out. I agree with the fact that it’s amazing how little CGI was used and yet the idea was executed very well, it almost makes it believable that one would be able to consciously travel deeper into dreams. Christopher Nolan is a complete genius, and amazing director.

   This was one of the first Christopher Nolan films that I really enjoyed. The first time viewing this film, I was blown away by the complexity of the plot. Christopher Nolan’s unique directing style allowed me to enjoy the film even more the second time through because of all the small details I could pick out. All of the awards for Inception were very well deserved and this film earned a spot on my top 5 all time favorite films. After viewing this film, I chose to watch Memento in my film studies class because of my interest in Nolan’s directing style. In Memento, I really liked how Nolan chose to tell the story in reverse. I felt it was very fitting and a genius way to include the audience in the confusion that Leonard was facing throughout the film.

    Being a big Christopher Nolan fan, this film was right up my alley. I enjoyed this watch and definitely would recommend it. I would compare this to another Christopher Nolan film “Momento.” Both film manipulates time in a non-linear fashion which is not seen often in movies. Inception made me think more about our perception of time as a whole, not just how it is done in the film. Movies like this that make me ask questions and reflect are my favorite types of movies. Definitely worth a watch.
