Haywire (Steven Soderberh, 2012): USA

Haywire was probably the strangest film I saw at the AFI Fest 2011. While everybody around me thought it was a really good movie, I just sat in the audience thinking that this was probably the most violent movie I have ever seen. The girl in the movie, she obviously has issues. There is not a guy in this movie that she doesn’t hit. It´s like she has ADHD and have decided to never sit still, always run around and always kill people. It´s not normal. The worst part about this movie is when you can hear her break someones arm. And yeah, that happened a lot in this movie. It makes me wanna puke, hearing the sound of someone getting really hurt. When the movie was done everybody stood up and cheered and I actually felt like I was from another planet because I didn’t get this movie at all.

The only fun during this premiere of the film was when the actors hit the stage for a questioning. It was a good time and they were all really nice and funny. And the crazy girl (Gina Carano) didn’t seem so crazy in real life.

Gina Carano plays one angry girl in this film and in the first 10min of the movie she hits two guys at a dinner. The one guy is the guy she know from Barcelona, where they worked together. She beats him up at the dinner and then steals another guys car. The guy decides to come with her because he doesn’t want her to crash his car. During the time she´s driving she tells him the whole story about her life. How she got to this point and what she is working with. Turns out she is some kind of spy and her job is to protect people that may or may not be in trouble.

I gotta say, although I didn’t like the movie, the fighting scenes were amazing. I can just imagine how many hours of practice it took for the actors to finally get it right.

For me, this wasn’t something that I would recommend to people. It was too much violent and to much hate.
