You, the Living (Du Levande) (Roy Andersson, 2007): Sweden / Germany / France / Denmark / Norway

This film can only be described as a dark charming comedy drama. Somehow Du Levande(2007) manages to sneak around and tickle all of your emotions. If you do not believe me then go ahead name an emotion, any one…. ok, thats an interesting choice but yes the film does apply to tha-well let me finish, yes it does that one as well.

With quick little bursts of insight into peoples hearts and minds via interesting snippets of their lives in the city this film seems to give an overview. Watching this film is like having the city be your guide.  The city is really telling you something about itself rather then about its inhabitants.  Du Levande is a favorite of mine and hopefully will be of yours as well.
