Broken Tail “A Tiger’s last journey” (Colin Stafford-Johnson, 2011): Ireland

The story about the Tiger “Broken Tail” takes you to another world you have never experienced before.
I love everything about this documentary, the passion, the wonderful pictures of the Indian nature and of course the Tigers. The excitement when Colin first approached the tigers was not only on the screen, it was also in the entire movie theatre. Never before have I become so taken away by a nature documentary.
This is the first bigger work by Colin Stafford-Johnson, and what amazes me the most is that he made the entire documentary almost by himself. It’s both brave and admireing how he just packed his bag and traveled down to India and just started filming. I hope people can see the wonderfull work he have done with: Broken Tail.
I like how the documentary is like a travel, we follow Colin exactly in his footprints and we are experiencing things exactly how he experienced them. That makes it not only personal but even more interesting to watch.
The nature shots are very artistic and cinematic, they make you appreciate the nature alot more. That really benefits to the main goal of the documentary, how people are taking the nature for granted, cutting down the trees and destroing it both for the Tigers and for everyone else.
The goal of the documentary was to inform people about the Indian tiger and how the threat is growing larger. The story about Broken Tail has at least opend my eyes, and after seeing the film I can’t do anything else then loving those majestic animals.
Watch it, not only to learn about the Indian Tigers, but also because of the wonderful photages and the unforgettable story about a tiger that did what nobody think was possible.
