The film A Clockwork Orange remastered was very interesting to see. If you have seen the film A Clockwork Orange in it’s original resolution I would definitely recommend seeing the remastered version. What stood out the most to me about the remastered version was the brightness of colors. The colors in the remastered version were super vibrant and beautiful. The film also seemed much brighter in scenes I remember being very dark. The story is still exactly the same, no scenes were added or taken out. The film just seemed to look a lot better visually.
I watched the remastered version of A Clockwork Orange at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival at the Metro Four on State street. The projectors at the Metro Four are not the newest and are not in HD so many of the brighter and darker shots in the film were very grainy and noisy but that is do to the projector not the film. The director Stanley Kubrick did a great job at getting the actors to seem real and true to each characters personality.
The film A Clockwork Orange is about four gang mates who terrorizes civilians and rob and steal from the innocent. The gang eventually gets tired of being under one mans rule and rebel. The leader of the gang is eventually set up by his gang mates and is arrested. Once arrested the main character realizes the crime he is arrested for is much worse than he had imagined. Once he is locked up, the leader and narrator of the film is invited to try an experimental treatment to make him a good person, make him better from his sickness. Once he agrees to the treatment the film really begins to run wild.
The acting i the film A Clockwork Orange is very well done for an older film. The director Stanley really has a gift at making his actors comfortable enough to open up to the audience and give us a great show. The acting by the main character was awesome and a real pleasure to watch. The music in the film is amazing as well. The music threw out really creates the different moods Stanley was trying to get the audience to feel. The music was a huge reason I believe this film did so well when it was released the first time. The editing of the film is interesting and flows very well for the different moods threw out the film.
I would definitely recommend checking out the remastered version of A Clockwork Orange. The remastered version allowed me to notice more details in the images and a better feel to the film as a whole. If you have seen it, see it again. If you haven’t seen it, watch the original half way threw then watch the second half on the remastered version and review the vast difference between the two.
