Whores Glory (Michael Glawogger) Austria, Germany 2011

This very well done and interesting documentary was filmed and directed by Michael Glawogger. This documentary is about prostitution, escorting or what ever you want to call it. Michale Glawogger went to different parts of the world and different cities in these third world country parts of the world. The film I feel was like intended to show the hardships of women in these countries and what they must do to survive.

The movie starts out in I believe it was in India. There were huge alleys connected with more and more alleys. All these alleys had rooms where the girls would take their clients, and do what they had to do. A lot of girls were run aways and decided to live this life, while a lot of them were forced to since it was their only way to survive. But a lot of the girls at the same time seemed to really enjoy it, they were getting laid (having orgasms and getting paid for it). I know a lot of them had to do this in order to survive since in third world countries women have no rights (which is a reason for their country being a third world country). I do feel extremely bad for the ones who literally had no choice, and I especially feel bad for the ones who were kidnapped sold off and forced in to being a sex slave. It was also very sad seeing how they did not even get paid half of their earnings and the way some of their owners treated and abused them.

The movie then goes to somewhere I believe in Thailand or Korea. This type of prostituting was more like a escort service in Las Vegas or Amsterdam. You went to an organized club/bar and the girls sat in the window for you to choose. The guys would tell the manager how much they want to spend and what their sexual intentions were. Then the manager would point out the ones in that category and the buyer choose who he wanted. The girl then would get her number call come out the room and go to the back bedrooms. Some of the girls did not want to work there, but it seemed as if the majority of them actually enjoyed it due to the fact they were making good money (even though there were dry streaks) and getting laid at the same time. I know this because they interview the girls on close ups and follow some of them around even outside of work, in which where they would talk about how there is other professions but they are fine with what they are doing as well as there boyfriends were completely chill about it.

Finally they took us down to mexico. Mexico they all seemed to enjoy there profession. Nobody looked down on them like in other countries and they seemed to get a lot of buisness which means they were making good money. I do not think I heard one of them say they were unhappy (not saying hispanics are all like that, this is just what was showen in the documentary that I did not make).

I feel overall that this movie was not to good it just showed me things that I have known since I was a little kid, but for those of you who are anot aware what it is like you should proably see this movie.
