Pina (Wim Wenders) Germany France 2011

This film was reviewed by Jake Horstman.

This film written and directed by Wim Wenders starred dancers Pina Bausch, Regina Advento, and Malou Airraudo. This film is based on the new dance that is sweeping the European nation by storm. These dances were very good and greatly choreographered with very talented dancers. The only thing is that from the start to finish it is the same dance moves with the same people over and over. There was no story line, and nothing but one style of a type of ballet dancing.

I saw this film due to it got good reviews which I can see if you are a senior citizen, have an awkard passion for movies and or your a dancer or just love the art of dancing. This did not apply to me which I wish I would have known before I went and wasted two and half hours of my time. After the first twenty minutes I was falling asleep and ready to shoot myself. The whole time I kept thinking something was about to happen but was all the same thing slow ballet dancing with no words. I literally probably slept for more than half the movie, and that was the most enjoyable part of the film, besides from the soarness in my neck from sleeping on those seats.

If you are into these types of movies then you should defiantly see it, as I said it got really good reviews for the most part. Most people who saw this enjoyed it but I am guessing most people new what this movie was about which I probably should have looked into before seeing this movie.

As I have been saying this movie was greatly put together but it just was not for myself and people who are similiar to me. I hope I did not offend any one by this Im just simply stating my opinion. But I due give major credit to the dancers who are very talented and to Pina for starting this new tPina Posterrend.
