The Art of Fighting is an eleven minute documentary that was one of five short documentaries shown at the Short Docs screening.
The documentary interviews an inspiring martial artist, Hussain Sadiqi that wants to make it in Hollywood like Bruce Lee did. Bruce Lee is considered by most as the best martial artist ever and an icon for the sport. Hussain is interviewed throughout the documentary and he tells us his life story. Originally he was from Afghanistan and wanted to learn martial arts because there was a studio near his house. Although his parents would not support him and not allow him because there is no future in it. They wanted him to only focus on his education. Well he practiced anyways and he had to leave his family in order to pursue is dream. His main objective is he wants to show the artistic beauty of martial arts. It is hard for him sometimes because he so far away from his family. Hussain says we have “use this moment in life the best possible way” and that is so true. Hussain is an amazing athlete and martial artists. There are some scenes of him doing the splits and working out and that seemed to not even be possible. I hope he successful in his career and see him a feature film.
