OF HORSES AND MEN (HROSS I OSS) (Benedikt Erlingsson 2013)
A delightful and unusual film which has you laughing hysterically one second and gasping in horror the next. Using the horse to express the man, the man to express the horse, this movie deals with a wide range of emotion… love, jealousy, greed, desire, addiction, rage. Without a second thought – people die, are maimed, are humiliated, fall in love, make love … as with horses.
Of Horses and Men is set in Iceland and the scenery is spectacular. The story focuses on life in a small town where everyone knows each others business and nothing is private. It takes a great film maker to pull you through such a wide range of emotions. The acting is fantastic, the photography exceptional, and the story is unique and creative, Definitely one of my favorite all time films.
The film is directed by Benedikt Erlingsson who received “best new director” from the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
