ONE WAY TICKET TO THE MOON (Bilet na ksiezyc) Jacek Bromski 2013
This is the story of two brothers Antoni and Adam, set in Poland in 1969. The younger brother, Adam, is drafted into the Polish army, and sets off with his brother on a bit of an adventure before he shows up for duty. Antoni has already served in the army and is determined to prepare his younger brother for the experience. Part of the preparation includes making sure that Adam has lost his virginity.
The story is fairly fun and predictable until just when Adam has lost his virginity he gets himself into an unexpected predicament. Along the way in their travels, you become aware of how strict and unpleasant the army might be. A fantastic turn of events puts Adam in an airplane, hijacking it into American territory, where he is ultimately forgiven his hijacking and escapes the horrors of the Polish army.
It is a beautiful film, with great cinematography, excellent editing, coloring, and music. It is fast paced, funny and certainly worth watching.
