After they announced that they were going to show Richard Linklater’s “Before”-trilogy at the festival. I became very excited as they are films I really love. I went to see all three of them in the same day at the festival. The second one was a really nice film to see again, as had not seen it in a long time, and it used to be a film I watched many times.

Before Sunset, takes place 9 years after Before Sunrise. Jesse (Ethan Hawke) is on a book tour promoting a book about the time he had with Celine (Julie Delpy) 9 years earlier. During his stop in Paris, he meets Celine again. Together they go for a walk through Paris and stop at a café and talk about everything between heaven and earth. They only have a couple of hours together as Jesse needs to catch a plane.

The film has a running time of 80 minutes, and you really don’t want the film to end. The dialogue is so entertaining and gripping, never before has it been so fun to sit down and just watch people talk for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Richard Linklater, Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy have done an extraordinary job with the screenplay. The long takes are incredibly well done. Everything is just so greatly done, and if I could decide Richard Linklater, Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy would keep making these films until the end of time.
