That’s Not Me (Gregory Erdstein, 2017) Australia l USA

Dear Polly,

I decided to write you a letter after watching this film and having an argument with a friend about Alice Foulcher being pretty enough to play you. Yes, I’m firstly sorry that I indeed had to argue with someone about it. I’m sorry that people actually ask themselves if anyone is pretty enough to play a protagonist. That this meant for me that some people didn’t quite realize that you actually point out in the film how unfairly people looked at you. I must ask you to please tell Alice that yes, she is pretty enough for whatever she feels like.

I decided to write you a letter also because I loved how you take life easily even though life takes hard on you. I’ve experienced through family and friends what is like to be an actor and being constantly compared to people. I’ve experienced myself being compared to people. I must say that even though I do think you need some more real talk about the real world out there you take life in a very lightly way and that I appreciate your humor.

Also, I have imagined my Oscar speech (maybe not in the same exact moments) as well.

Stay weird,

Natalia.
