On The Pipe 4 (Jay Schweitzer, 2007):USA
Dear Jay
I understand you are getting ready to start filming your newest Motocross video, “On The Pipe 4.” I’m contacting you because I heard you are looking for riders and extra film crew to help with your film. I understand you started making snowboard films with Mike from Mack Dawg productions and then decided to move on and you dedicated yourself to the motocross world by starting up powerband films in Santa Barbara, C.A. After watching “On The Pipe” two and three, I realized how much you have progressed. You did a great job in bringing freestyle back to its roots, back to natural terrain. Here is a link to a short, rough cut segment of me riding…
This not only shows my ability as a rider but also as a film editor. Like you, I’m very passionate about the sport and love to film riding. I understand you are going to have some great riders on board ready to work for you. Riders like, Travis Pastrana, Dan Pastor, Nate Adams, Dustin Miller, Mike Mason, James Stewart, RC, and Ryan Capes. I heard Ryan is going to try and break the world of 310 Ft. I also heard you are getting exclusive footage on RC’s last national race. My dream, since I started riding, was to someday work with these guys. Whether it’s riding with them or filming them, either would be an honor. I heard you and all the riders are going to Australia to build a freestyle track just for the film. What I found very special was when I heard you are going to use three helicopters to capture a new way at shooting motocross riders. Your new ideas of cinematography have inspired me tremendously. I’m very happy someone out there is revolutionizing the way motocross is filmed. I hope you can consider giving a young motivated rider, filmmaker a chance to be a part of your work. If not, good luck with the film and I can’t wait to see it when it comes to the 23rd Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
