Alfonso Cuarón was both the writer and director to this epic film. This film took place in Mexico, in a black and white effect. Alfonso Cuarón spoke about this film at the Q&A and also at the outstanding directors award on how this film has a special meaning to him because this film relates to him when he was a young boy but also his main that he has had his whole life.

The film Roma was nominated for 10 Academy Awards and has been one of the most talked about and criticized films due to the main actress Yalitza Aparigio being a first timer in acting. But also because Alfonso recreated his life in this film to when he was a young boy.

Cleo who comes from an indigenous decent, who was also the children’s nanny and housekeeper who traveled everywhere when the family would go on a trip. The most heart breaking part was when Cleo looses her daughter at the time of birth and how she managed to keep her emotions in. Especially even more devastating seeing her finally let it out after almost loosing two kids she takes care of in the ocean.
