After being Batman guide, a Jedi, Zeus and saved her daughter. Liam Neeson is back with his latest movie, “Cold Pursuit”. Directed by Hans Petter Moland, the movie is based on the 2014 Norwegian film ‘In Order of Disappearance’. Which on this case bring us a story about revenge, loyalty and trust. Liam Neeson works as a snowplow driver, when he find himself in trouble after knowing that his son was killed by drug dealers. So his revenge begins!

The story had a good potential, you can take good things about revenge and learn with them, however the movie is not interested on that, and it works only to show the different ways Liam Neeson can kill you. The director tries one approach where whenever someone gets killed, a black screen comes up with the name of the character who just passed away. It did not work for me, it always felt like a lack of continuity and very episodic. Taking away the flow of the movie and splitting the movies in parts. So whenever he kills someone, he gets information and move on to the next target.

The movie contains a good amount of character which, unfortunately, do not make a good use of them. For example Laura Dern, as the mother and wife of Liam Neeson character. She has nothing to do in the movie, and I do not know why she was in the movie, which brings me to the script of the movie. The movie try so hard to show you other things other than revenge, but it fails. So does the character of Tom Bateman, who plays Trevor ‘Viking’ Calcote, the man behind the traffic organization. Who has poor dialogues.

“Cold Pursuit” could be have been much better if it was not for the bad, and the for the bad guy. It tries so hard to tell you more than revenge but it fails. It could have gone to a opposite way, where Liam Neeson or other characters could learn from past experiences and involve, however that does not happen. With the lack of continuity and the lack of development of characters, the movie is fun if you do not expect much and just want to see Liam Neeson killing bad guys.
