I grew up watching WWE, as I kid I did not know that It was fake, and always liked and enjoyed. With the time, my friends told me it is fake that the fights are not real. Watching this movie, it showed me what is the real spirit behind all this show called “WWE”. The big corporation who runs fights all around the world. It is all about the show and how the fighters interact with the public, working almost like a soap opera, and besides the fights all the storylines and the effort that every character/fighter puts out to make fans go crazy and enjoy the show.

In his first featured film, the writer-director Stephen Merchant (“Logan”) tells us a story based on true facts, the story of a family who grew up watching a loving WWE. They live in a small town in England, where they have a gym and teach wrestler and their dreams is to be part of this big industry of wrestler. The film follows Paige (Florence Pugh) and her way that she has to make to get to the WWE.

Stephen Merchant writes the movie, and he gives us an unconventional family, and an unconventional female lead. Based on a true story, the director gives us a movie about finding who you are, and accepting it.  Our main character is not like the others girls, who likes to shop or use makeup. She grew up watching and fighting, and she follows her dream to be a WWE star. Even though, I knew what was going to happen the director gives us a good character, that I saw myself rooting for her many times. She is a very relatable person, that is willing to fight not only for her family dream, but hers.

With participation of Vince Vaughn (“The Break-Up”) who is Hutch, the scouting coach. We have some really funny scenes, with his “rude-funny way” of toughness. However, the movie has a good balance of when to be funny and the humor on it, and when to show us the results of feelings that you failed, or you can’t do it, regrets, judges and how to overcome these situations.

”Fighting with My Family” is a good time watching it, i had fun and saw myself rooting for the main character to success. With some good humor, the movie also touches some very good points of identity, and also your backstory not only your appearance.
