A Bump along the Way ( Shelly Love 2019) : UK

I found this film to be enchanting and at the same time a realistic view of what unwed mothers go through in society. The movie starts with a hilarious one night stand that ends up in a unexpected journey through mid life pregnancy land.
The dialogue and delivery of the comic punch lines were impeccable. The movie had a great flow and fluid interaction of the characters. As the movie progresses, you can see the growth of the characters in a difficult situation. Both the mother and her teen age daughter both go through their challenges. It also shows a lot of the social stigma that follows anyone who goes against the norm and that still exists today.
I did find that there were a lot of close ups of feet and shoes. I know that UGG sponsored this movie. I wonder if that is why there was five scenes that focused on feet, which is about four too many. I found the sets were very creative and showed harmony of color and design.
It is definitely a “chick flick” but I feel that men and people of all age will feel good after they leave the theater.
