Precious was the best movie I’ve seen at the festival. I could never imagine, this kind of movies would be out. honestly it’s been a long time since i saw anything so powerful and mind blowing. Its base on a novel. it was such a journy watching the film.
I personally got every kind of emotion a human being can have, at the same time. thie film is about a 16 year old girl who is extremely overweight, its about her life, how she sees things or deals with issues.with crazy life and problems she’s going through.
I would say part of the movie was very hard to watch, audience got to the point where they start screaming and getting angry. there were times when it was funny, very nice, sarcasm, not too much, just to balance the movie.
Overall the film was very effectively done, as an audience member i have to ay director did everything in a very clear details to represent his character ad the emotion stage they were going through. Great Mise-en-scene, color red played big role every time, it would be violent or passion.
The sequence that caught my attention was, when Precious start going to school, her clothes changed, she starts wearing more colorful things, does her hair and make up. Hope is a beautiful thing and director represented it in many different ways. watching the film, thinking she has no way out, but everything she’s going through is getting her somewhere.
I think this film deserves an Academy Award, and Mo’Nique deserves it too. Her performance was unbelievable. All of the actor performances were phenomenal. I recommend you to see this movie. this kind of movies are not often made and its a shame. Because it is very important, not everyone can relate to it but we all know people go throughout the things that the main character was going through. this kind of films make us feel and its very important.
